Another day at Collab Coffee with Lofi Girl’s 2026 study playlist, another thought to put to the keyboard.
My name is Tyler Wedel, and this Substack was once Thinking Fitness. Much of the thought behind it is still the same, but with an expanded scope to include topics of finance. Workouts, wallets, and wellness are three separate areas of discipline, but they are all distilled the same way:
20% Planning, 80% Execution
Consider two men:
The first man hires a financial advisor, meets multiple times, and creates a budget down to the penny, but he doesn’t track how he spends his money (or seek to spend less).
The second man doesn’t have a plan farther than his next meal, but he’s tighter with his money than bark on a tree.
Who do you presume has healthier finances?
You can stumble into success if you execute properly (even unintentionally) while even the best plan is useless without an engine to drive it home.
Much is the same of fitness and your mental health. If you seek to have a clearer mind, but you’re scrolling social media in bed at 11pm (spoken from experience), how can you expect your rest to restore your mind?
A person is known by their works, and their works are a result of who they are. Powerful works are grown - Fruit on a tree does not suddenly appear, but it grows slowly through pruning and the changing of the seasons.
What will you grow?

Wow, Wedel, what wonderful wisdom; workouts, wallets, & wellness... whoop whoop!
